It's Been Jesus All The Time

Notice what God said to Moses when he asked the question. Ex:3,13-14 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you.

Now let’s look at a few places where Jesus declares himself to be the I Am.
Jn:8,54-58 Before Abraham was I Am
Jn:8-12 I Am the Light of the world
Jn:6-48 I Am the Bread of life
Jn:14-6 I Am the Way the Truth and the Life
Jn:15-1 I Am the true vine and my Father is the husbandman
Jn:10-9 I Am the door if any man enter in he shall be saved

Ex:6,2-3 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the Lord:
And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.

In this series of scripture it describe the Word being with God the Father
Jn:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
.
The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Col:1,14-17 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Facts, we know it was Jesus that died and shed his blood for the sins of the world. We also know it was Jesus that made all things, for without him was not any thing made that was made. He was in the beginning with God, they live in eternity. Micah:5-2

In this chapter its reminding us of what happened to Israel after God brought them out of Egypt and entered into the wilderness

 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
  • And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
  • And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
  • And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
  • But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
  • Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
  • Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
  • Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
  • Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
  • 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
  • 11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were .destroyed of the destroyer.
Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Is:34,1-8 in these scriptures the God who became Jesus declares his fury and indignation on all the nations of the world to utterly destroy them. According to the world this couldn't be Jesus because they say he love everybody. Look what the Lord had to say about that statement. Prov:8-17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me

Now lets find out who is this Christ: go to Jn:4,7-10,13-15,25
There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)
Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritan.

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiahs cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he

Acts;2-36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ

So we see Jesus the Christ was the God all men looked to in the old and new Testament.

In Jn:5-22,23 For the Father judgeth no man but hath committed all judgment unto the Son.v -23 That all men should honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

Now look in Heb:1,1-3,10-12
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail

I believe we have made it plain that Jesus is the only God man has known old or new testament, but let’s do one more scripture.

Ps:68-4,7,17-18
4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.
7 O God, when thou wentest forth before thy people, when thou didst march through the wilderness; Selah:
17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.
18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them.

After searching the scriptures we can plainly see Jesus is the God of the Old and New Testament

Jesus the God of the Old and the New Testament

 Jn:5-39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
The scriptures start at Genesis and end at Malachi.

This lesson has come about because many that call themselves Christians believe Jesus didn't come on the scene until the new testament through the birth of Mary. We will prove Jesus is the God of the Old and New Testament. The scripture tells us: my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Hosea:4,6

Let's start in Gen:1-1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth . This is the same God referred to in, Jn:1-1,3,14   In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. v-14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Based on scripture Jesus is the only God man has ever known, heard or seen, altho many have said they heard the voice of God and thought it was the Father speaking to them. Sorry not so.
Look at Jn:5-37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

Jn:1-18, No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Jn:6-46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

But if we look at Ex:24-8,10 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.

Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

Who is this? None other than Jesus, he let Moses and the elders take a good look at him so it be no mistake who it is giving them the Ten Commandments He is the God of the Old and New Testament

In 1Jn:4-1 the word says, try the spirits whether they be of God; All this stuff people are saying God said, if you can't find it in the bible he didn't say it. In Amos:3-7 Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

If we look at Lk:24,25-27 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. Jesus want us to believe the prophets because he is the one that gave them the word. He also gave Moses the Ten Commandments written with his own fingers. Ex;31-18

Paul said it like this, in Acts:24-14,15 But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.

The Father and Jesus existed before the world was, they live in eternity. Ps:90,1-4 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

In Is:57-15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Is:44-6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Now let’s find out who is this Lord, King of Israel that has declared himself to be the first and the last and besides him there is no God.

Ez:43:1-2,7  Afterward he brought me to the gate, even the gate that looketh toward the east:
  • And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places. This is Jesus
In Rev:1-8 ,11, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty v-11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and what thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. It’s Jesus again Also look at  Rev:22-12,13

We will continue this lesson in part 2
